Rain BootsThe Stutterheim Rainwalker is a rainboot based on the silhouette of a classic Chelsea boot. By adding a contrasting sole, the Stutterheim design team have updated this classic style, achieving a contemporary, eye-catching aesthetic resulting in a waterproof boot which is at home both in the city and rural environments. Hand-made from natural rubber, this rainboot is soft and flexible, conforming to the wearer’s feet over time. The vulcanised natural rubber is 100% vegan with the boots constructed in Europe at the hands of specialists with over 80 years experience. Waterproof boots, or wellies, have traditionally been reserved for the countryside. Practical but far from stylish, rainboots have rarely been suited to the city or other urban environments. As specialists in stylish rainwear, the Stutterheim designers felt there was an opportunity to translate the brand’s aesthetic and practical values to footwear by approaching rainboots from a fresh perspective. The result is our Chelsea Rainwalker, a waterproof boot that thanks to its slim profile and ankle-height design doesn’t feel out of place with your working wardrobe.

Rainboots for everyone, everywhere
Wellington boots have adorned the feet of wearers from all walks of life, from the 1st Duke of Wellington from whom the style took its name, to the trotters of a certain cartoon pig going by the name of Peppa. Following the invention of the vulcanisation process by Charles Goodyear, the original leather boots were made available in a waterproof rubber which gave rise to rainboots being adopted by the masses, from French peasants working the fields to aristocratic landowners. Still rainboots had a distinctly utilitarian feel best suited to rural environments. This is in stark contrast to the Chelsea boot, a style initially made popular by Queen Victoria, which then became the footwear of choice for iconic ‘60s rock bands populating Chelsea in west London. Elegant, modish, but not best suited rain, mud or snow. Our Chelsea Rainwalkers stand in the middle of this booty spectrum, combining the practical elements of a wellington boot with the timeless style of the Chelsea boot. Dressed up or down, pounding the pavement or scrambling up a muddy embankment, our Rainwalker rainboots really are suitable for everyone, everywhere.shop rain boots
