All of our products are made to last. We don’t believe in the fast-paced consumption patterns of today, where a garment can, and is almost expected to be, replaced every other season.

We encourage a more long-lasting way of consuming, where each item is bought with consideration and thought, with the intention of wearing it for many years.

To prolong the quality of our products we strongly recommend our customers to follow the care instructions for each item which you will find on the care label of your garment. As we offer a wide range of rainwear in different styles, categories, and materials, each product comes with its own guidelines to follow.

Below you’ll find care instructions for our most popular products: the Stockholm and Mosebacke raincoats in Rubberized cotton, the Stockholm and Mosebacke raincoats in our lightweight fabric, and the Chelsea Rainwalker rubber boots.

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR RUBBERIZED COTTON RAINCOAT
(STOCKHOLM & MOSEBACKE)

Washing instructions
If the garment is dirty or has stains first try cleaning with a wet cloth and soap. If the stains don’t come out, the garment may be machine washed at a maximum 30 degrees Celsius on the setting for delicate items.
  • Use only liquid laundry soap.
  • Do not use softener or bleach.
  • Do not tumble dry.
  • Dry hanging.

Lining
The inside of the coat is made out of unwashed cotton (which is more environmentally friendly). When the cotton comes into contact with water for the first time, the dust inside the fabric might leave yellow stains in the lining. All you have to do is machine wash the coat (see cleaning instruction above) and these spots will disappear and won’t come back.

Creases and fold marks
After being folded for transportation or tucked into a closet for a longer period, your coat might have some creases and fold marks. By letting your coat hang for a day or two these fold marks will usually disappear. If you need your coat nice and smooth faster than that, you can either steam or iron the coat from the inside. If ironing, use a cotton cloth between the coat and the iron, set on a low temperature.

If the problem persists then please contact us at contact@stutterheim.com.

Pockets
Remember that as the pockets don’t have any flaps or zips, water can trickle into the pockets in heavy downpours. We recommend not keeping your electronics or sensitive belongings in the external pockets when the outer demons are attacking with full force.

Storage
When not in use, we recommend storing your Rubberized Cotton raincoat hanging. Avoid hanging next to garments made of leather or darker denim, as the Rubberized Cotton is susceptible to staining from other materials. Please be aware of this fact and handle the coat as you would a suede coat or other sensitive materials. The light colored jackets are especially sensitive.

Please note that a leather bag may stain your raincoat if worn together.

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR CHELSEA RAINWALKER RUBBER BOOTS

The Chelsea Rainwalker boots are made of durable natural rubber. To prolong the lifetime of your Chelsea Rainwalkers, we recommend occasionally using a rubber care spray to polish the boots with a soft, clean cloth. This will help ensure the rubber stays flexible, preventing it from cracking and will also revitalize the color.

Dry the inside of the boots by taking out the inlay soles and inserting dry paper towels to wick out any moisture. Never apply heat or use a boot dryer.

Washing instructions
When necessary, rinse the boots with lukewarm water and use a soft cloth to wash off any dirt or sand. Dry thoroughly as above.

Storage
Always store your boots indoors in a cool place as they are sensitive to prolonged exposure to sunlight and heat.
