Patrol Shaft Boots are comfortable boots for men and women, perfect for snowy and cold weather. Constructed with a leather upper which has been treated to be water-repellent and a galosh-style duck sole, rest assured that feet will be kept dry as well as warm. The rubber lug sole ensures a firm grip on slippery ground and the padded ankle-length shaft adds warmth and comfort on days when it's most needed. Elastic inserts and pull tabs make the boots easy and quick to transition in and out of.

Can you provide advice on what thermal insole you would recommend? And would you need a larger size if you used an insole?

Are these good for extreme cold? How warm is the padded upper lining and what is it made of? And is there insulation in the foot bed/toe box?
The Patrol Boot Shaft Leather Black features a water-repellent leather upper, rubber lug sole, and padded ankle shaft for comfort and some warmth. However, there is no insulation in the footbed or toe box, so while they keep feet dry in cold or snowy conditions, they may not be warm enough for extreme cold.
