STUTTERHEIM Shot by: Ana Suanes SS24

For our second collaboration with Spanish photographer Ana Suanes, we asked her to capture our spring/summer 2024 collection at the seaside resort Málaga – you probably recognise the name from family charter trips in the 90s. Still off-season at the time of the shoot, the closed shops and empty beaches create an eerie and nostalgic feeling of fading memories of sunny beach days and careless fun, like a washed-out postcard. We asked Ana and the two Málaga-based models Joss and Lu about their relationship to the location.

Ana: “I grew up visiting Málaga almost every week, I lived there for several years and it's like "the place to stay for good". But it needs a break from tourism. And I'm sure the people who live here will be grateful when that happens.”

Joss: “I have always felt very connected to Málaga, the sister who saw me grow and become the person I am today and how much I believe I have advanced.”

Lu: “I’ve been living in the province of Málaga for just under two years, but I didn’t expect this place to become my home. Here - I found myself, I literally became the best version of myself. And also, I understood what happiness is. A place with the most beautiful sunsets, the most smiling people, and the most colourful culture.”

Even though it doesn’t rain much in Málaga, which are your best rainy-day songs?

Lu: All I Want – Kodaline
Joss: Black Friday – Tom Odell
Ana: Melody Noir – Patrick Watson
