Product Care
All of our products are made to last. We don’t believe in the fast-paced consumption patterns of today, where garments are replaced every other season. Instead, we encourage a more long-lasting way of consuming, where each item is bought with consideration and thought – and with the intention of wearing it for many years.
To prolong the quality of our products we recommend our customers follow the care instructions for each item which you will find on the care label of your garment. As we offer a wide range of rainwear in different styles, categories, and materials, each product comes with its own guidelines to follow.
We recommend that our customers strictly follow our care instructions to ensure product quality.
If the garment is dirty or has stains, try using a wet cloth and soap. If stains don’t come out, the garment may be machine washed at a maximum of 30 degrees, only on the setting for delicate items. Please note that insulated garments from the Winter Collection should only be hand-washed.

After being folded for transportation or tucked into a closet for a longer period, your raincoat might have some creases and fold marks. By letting your coat hang for a day or two these fold marks will usually disappear. If you need your coat nice and smooth faster than that, you can either steam or iron the coat from the inside. If ironing, use a cotton cloth between the coat and the iron, set at a low temperature.
If the problem persists then please contact us.
If your coat has persistent stains that won’t come off, for example, if a leather item has bled dye onto the PVC, we recommend trying the following two alternatives:
-Rub the stained surface with a “Magic Sponge” or “Magic Eraser” cleaning product, which can be purchased in most supermarkets. This has been recommended to us by customers that have tried it with successful results.
-Rub the stained surface with oil-free acetone, which can be purchased at most supermarkets or pharmacies. Test on a small area of the fabric before proceeding.

As the pockets of some of our styles don’t have flaps or zips to close them, water may trickle into the pockets in heavy downpours. Therefore we recommend keeping your electronics or sensitive items in a bag or trouser pocket instead of the external pocket of those styles. To avoid the lining of the pocket getting damp, you can keep a piece of tissue inside which will soak up the excess rainwater. Replace between wears.
When not in use, we recommend storing your raincoat hanging to avoid creasing. Avoid hanging next to garments made of leather or darker denim, as the PVC coating is susceptible to staining from other materials. Please be aware of this fact and handle the coat as you would a suede coat or other sensitive materials. The light-coloured jackets are especially sensitive. Please note that a leather item may stain your raincoat if worn together.
Store away from sunlight as the colour of the coat may be affected if exposed to sunlight for a longer period of time.
When necessary, wipe the boots using lukewarm water and a soft clean cloth to wash off any dirt or sand. Let dry.
Remove any moisture inside the boot by taking out the inlay sole and inserting dry paper towels to wick out any moisture. Never use heat or a boot dryer.
To prolong the lifetime of your rainboots, we recommend once in a while using a rubber care spray to polish them. Use a clean soft cloth to rub in the spray. This will prevent cracking of the material, revitalise the colour and keep the natural rubber flexible.
To prolong the life and quality of your leather boots, we recommend that you regularly treat them with a leather balm or wax. Apply a thin layer to the surface and gently rub the entire leather area. Let the leather absorb the balm or wax for about 15 minutes, after which you can use a leather brush to polish the surface and remove dirt. Following this, complete the care process by spraying the area with a waterproofing spray or leather protector spray. This will create a water-resistant barrier which protects the material in wet weather.

To prolong the life and quality of your Nubuck leather boots, we recommend that you regularly treat them by brushing the surface with a Nubuck brush. This will remove dirt and keep the velvet-like quality of the Nubuck. Following this, complete the care process by spraying the surface with a waterproofing spray or Nubuck protector spray. When not in use, we recommend storing your STUTTERHEIM bag hanging if possible, to avoid creasing. Hats should be stored gently folded or standing upright. Avoid storing next to garments made of leather or darker denim, as the PVC coating is susceptible to staining from other materials, especially light-coloured items. Please note that if wearing leather or denim together with a PVC accessory, colour may bleed from the leather or denim onto the PVC.

All of our knitwear – sweaters, beanies and scarfs are made of the same material, merino wool, and can therefore be cared for in the same way.
Wool is naturally anti-bacterial and any odour will air out by itself. Simply leave the garment hanging by an open window for 6-8 hours and any odour will disappear.
If the garment has stains, soak in lukewarm water with wool soap, gently squeeze out excess water and dry flat. Do not machine wash, as the garment will shrink!
Knitwear is best stored folded, as the fabric can start to sag when hung for an extended amount of time. For long-term storage, enclose in a plastic container with cedar balls to avoid moths.
